Happy Birthday to my BFF!

Happy birthday to the best BFF in the whole world!  Kelly and I have been friends for over 10 years!  We were on dance team in high school together and we were inseparable.  Twins practically lol!  College came and went, and now us being here in Houston, is the best!  I get to see her so much more than ever before and it's wonderful!  Let's take a trip down memory lane.  {Some are pics of pics, sorry for the quality}.

Kelly, I am so thankful for our friendship, your kindness, honesty and compassion.  We can be sitting on the couch doing nothing, go shopping, or go out, and we will have fun no matter what.  When I am down, you listen and lift me up.  When I am happy, you share in my excitement.  We want the best for each other and as corny as it sounds, we've grown from teeny boppers into married ladies.  I hope you have had a fabulous birthday, and to many more!!!!  xoxo

Happy 17 months!

Happy 17th month birthday sweet girl!!!  We can not believe you're already 17 months!  Where does the time go?!  You are an awfully busy lady now and are into everything; but you are so much fun!  Every day gets even better and you're doing new things all the time.  It is so fun to watch you grow!

In no particular order, here's what you're up to these days......

You will not stand still for a picture at all!  I am lucky to get any at this point.

We have to really watch you outside, you like to eat dirt....esp at Auntie K and Uncle J's house.

You say: mom mom, daddy, uh-oh, daaaa doooo (love u and thank you), night night, nana

You love to watch me put on my makeup.  You're also still obsessed with brushes.

You close the door on us and think it's so funny.

You eat anything; there's not been a food you've turned down yet.

You climb on EVERYTHING....coffee table, your bedside table, the kitchen table, everything.

You're so smart - you push a kitchen chair next to your high chair and climb in. Scares us!

When you want to take a nap or go night night, you get your blanket, the seahorse and go to your crib and point.

You never leave your shoes on in the car, I don't even bother putting them on til we get to where we're going.

You're still on your tippy toes, but are getting better flat footed, and now run sometimes.

You love hiding behind things now.  End tables, under the kitchen table and behind the kitchen island.

You love to give hugs to everyone and your animals.  You give the best kisses too.

Every morning I make a smoothie for breakfast and you love my "countdown" til the blender goes on. 

You are obsessed with bananas or "nana".  We won you this at the rodeo and you love it!

You love playing in your house, and making "rock soup" in your pan with your spoon.

You open cabinets and drawers all the time, now you grab things off the counter - we have to push things back so you can't reach them.

You take your shirt off when eating sometimes lol  It's so funny.  

When you know you're not supposed to do something, you look at us, shake your head no, and do it anyway....

Turning the cable box on and off is your new fav thing. 

Taking you to other people's homes is hard, everything is "new" and you are so curious!

You spin around and it's so cute!  Our little ballerina.

You're still in size 4 diapers, and take 1-2 naps a day depending on when you wake up.

Happy Birthday Jamie!

Today is one of my dear friend's birthday!  Jamie is 27 today!  HOW did we get to be this old?!  I remember cruising in my red camaro as 17 year olds going shopping {our most fav hobby ha!}  Jamie moved to Cincinnati last year for her husband's residency, but I am SO glad she's home in Houston this week!  We are going to see her and Kane on Friday, can't wait!

I have been in the biggest blog funk lately.  Idk what my deal is?!  We had SUCH a great time in Missouri, and I still need to blog about it, but sorting thru 277 pics is quite the task....so until then, here are some pics for you from the last few weeks.

Jason's Snowy Birthday

Thursday afternoon Danny, Ambs and I headed to Austin to celebrate Jason's 30th birthday!  We were so excited to get to see them and spend so much time with them and our Austin friends.   

When we got there, Chelsea and Rita greeted us.  Chelsea is in her anesthesia residency but she's got 2 weeks off so we got to spend lots of time with her.  Rita LOVED Ambs lol

We went up to their clubhouse for happy hour and Jason and Will met us there too.  After dinner, it was bath time for the kiddos.  Bubbles, color bath tabs, and crayons made for a fun bath! 

After their bath, Will showed Ambs how to work the iPad.  He was so cute with her; they were obsessed with each other, it was really sweet.

About 11:00 pm it started snowing!!!!  YAY! 

As soon as Ambs woke up Will was ready to show her the snow!  We got her all bundled up and out we went.  She really didn't like it all that much, I think it was just really different and she hadn't had breakfast yet lol  We are going to Kansas City, Missouri this weekend so she's gonna get to see lots more snow {hopefully}

Friday night everyone met up at their house for drinks and appetizers before dinner.  Chelsea and I dropped Will and Amberly off at the "Camp Little Bear" center right next door to the Clubhouse for a few hours.  I was kind of nervous for her to not be with us, but I knew she was in good hands with their babysitters and there were several kids there her age, and we were right next to them.  After we drooped her off we peeked through the windows and it looked like she was having fun!

We got home Saturday afternoon and I had to work that night.  Sunday morning we went to Kroger and Ambs got in the sweetest grocery cart ever!  LOL  She was so sleepy!  She rode in the front for about 15 mins then stood in the basket the rest of the time. 

Our Super Bowl was pretty laid back.  Mom, Dad, Tom and Devoni came over for the game.  We ate WAY too much.  Ambs sat with her grandpas for her nighttime milk and "cookie" {yes, we brush her teeth before bed}

This week we are just preparing for our Missouri trip.  We are going for my Aunt and Uncles 50th wedding anniversary!  I haven't been up there for a few years so I am so excited to see everyone!   

kind of a ramble....

Most exciting news 1st.....Sara and Matt are having a GIRL!!!!!!!  YAY!  They found out yesterday and they/we lol are SO excited! It's going to be so fun for Amberly to have her 1st best friend haha and Sara said she will probably look up to Ambs bc she's older and stuff, so that is going to be super cute!  I talked to Sara for awhile yesterday and it just brought up so many emotions for me because it took me back to the day we found out about Amberly and how happy we were!  Little baby girl VB is going to be so loved and I can't wait to spoil her rotten! 

Last Friday Danny took me out on a "date night".  He walked into the house so proud of the flowers he got me from HEB....u know, the ones that are dyed hot pink and turquoise?!  lol  I told him if this had been our 1st date that would've been a red flag! haha  {it's the thought that counts though right?!}  We hop in the car to go and there's a single red rose in the front seat, awwww....that's more like it.  I said "Is this like the Bachelor?  If I don't get the rose, do I get the boot?"  He's so cute!  We headed into Houston and ended up at Eddie V's - what a treat that was!  I am so happy Houston has an Eddie V's too {was always one of my Austin favorites}.  It was delicious!  We were seating in a separate room by ourselves....so it kind of did feel like the Bachelor haha  People were seated in there a little after our crab and avocado app arrived.  After dinner we headed toward the bar, it was full....so we went home.....AT 8:20!!!!!  hahahaha We are so lame lol  but it was nice to have a great dinner and evening with Danny. 

ok...I am watching The View while writing this, and I am in absolute DISGUST about the woman with the hot sauce and cold shower to punish her kids.....I just want to cry for those kids! 

Anyway, speaking of the Bachelor, I LOVE this season!  If Emily doesn't win, she needs to be the next Bachelorette!  I just love her!  But I really think Chantal O is going to win!  

Despicable Me......we watched it last night and what a cute little movie that is!  Danny and I were laughing so hard at the little girls and how many questions they were asking and how smart they were.  I can't wait til Ambs is that talkative!  Little Agnus, ohhhh she is adorable!!!! I just wanted to pull her thru the tv to come play with Ambs lol 

Saturday I worked in the morning and that night, I went to dinner with Kelly, Nikki and Yvette for a girls dinner before Yvette's wedding end of this month.  We went to Escalante's {who was out of everything it seemed like} and then to Olive's.  I had my 1st dirty martini, it was ok....best part was the blue cheese stuffed olives lol
