A Day at the Zoo

Sunday we went to the Houston zoo with Mr and Mrs. Holloway!  I haven't been to the zoo in ages so I was excited to go!  Needless to say, at the end of the day, the animals were all sleeping, there was tons of WT there, I got Tory Burch gas station feet from wearing a maxi dress sweeping up the dirt onto my feet and it was hot.  Amberly was kind of intrigued with the animals, the monkeys more than others, but really just wanted to walk around ever where and point to the animals.

She actually was really scared of the giraffes.  I guess bc they were so tall?!  See the new baby one?!
Dada and the giraffe
I'm the picture taker so Dada showed her around the goats - such gross animals

peek a boo
Looking at the lion while Ambs goes grrrrrrrrr..... {her lion sound}
We had to go down below to see Jonathan the lion so Danny and Ryan carried Ambs down lol
Jonathan the Great......not so much.....he was sleeping.

MONKEY!
BIG Monkey - that people were feeding.....so against the rules and annoying.
Little monkey enjoying some time outside her stroller
and some time in a fountain with another girl lol
At the end of the day Amberly was getting sleepy so she was going "night night" anywhere.....
Sleepy monkey during the elephants - please pay no attention to my roots, my hair is done now :) Sweet baby slept the whole way home and an hour after we got home.  Plum Tuckered Out!

We really did have a great afternoon with Ryan and Cara!  It prob wasn't as bad as I made it sound, but on a Sunday it's definitely a place to "people watch" :) We loved that Ryan and Cara could come with us.   It's so great to see them so happy being married and expecting!  Can't wait to meet baby H!  This weekend Danny is working the Final 4 with Ryan - like on the court, in the press conference room, etc.  He's like a kid at Christmas so excited!  My bracket is already shot, hope yalls is still doing well!

BABY H

As many of you know, this June we are going to Hawaii for Ryan and Cara's wedding; Danny's the Best Man.  See this post too.   Well, over the past few months plans have changed just a bit and I can finally talk about them.  YAY!

In Dec/Jan we got a phone call from them and they asked Danny to put me on speaker.  Immediately I said "Are yall pregnant?!"  totally kidding....and they said, "well, actually we are!"  AHHHHHHHHHHH  WE WERE SO EXCITED FOR THEM!  OMG what a fabulous, rewarding, unexpected surprise! They're not finding out the sex of baby H either, so what a GREAT surprise that will be!

However, her being due September 4th, traveling to Hawaii the end of June just would not be in the cards.  Being about 7 months pregnant flying over water for 8 hours just won't happen.  We all already bought our plane tickets and reserved rooms and things so we are all still going and gonna make it a Wardlow family vacation.

In the midst of all this change of wedding plans and baby news, Ryan who now works for Rice University athletics, got a fabulous new job opportunity a few weeks ago!  But, this job moves them to Lake Charles, LA.  They bought a house there last week and are moving next week.  We are so sad to see them go, but know it's a great opportunity for them and their new family.

So within the past 3 months, they're having a baby, got married, Cara quit her job, Ryan got a new one, they bought a house and are moving.....hmmmm.....sounds like a couple or two we know?!  LOL   And we wouldn't have had it any other way!

Last Friday, they made it official!  They went to the JP and got MARRIED!  I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Ryan and Cara Holloway with their parents!

In May they're having a reception in Austin to celebrate their marriage!  We are so happy and excited for them and the journey they're about to have.  They are 2 of the nicest people we both know and they're going to be the best parents!

Crawfish Time is Here

Saturday after I worked, we went over to Kelly and Jason's for a crawfish boil.  The last time I had crawfish was several years ago while visiting Nicole in Louisiana with Kelly.  They both peeled them for me so it was easy lol :)  Brandon, Sarah, Kent and Linda were all there too.  They set up a TV on their porch so we watched the basketball games.   Sarah brought over Lulu too, so Ambs loved playing with all 3 pups.

Jason introduced Amberly to the crawfish.  She did NOT like it when he held it close to her face lol  Ace on the other hand was always curious about them
Amberly in Auntie K's LSU chair.....Future Tiger?!  Think Grandma and Grandpa may have something to say about that!  ha!
Kent helping Jason cook!  It smelled SO good!
Almost done!!!!!
For those of you who don't know, Kelly's has a rabbit, Dove, since she was at LSU, in like 05? I think is when she got him.  He's in their closet and is the sweetest and softest bunny!  Amberly LOVES him!
You pet the bunny Amberly, pet the bunny.  She was so sweet to him!  She even gave him a kiss lol

Somehow Lulu, Sarah's dog got out!  It was AWFUL!  All of us were looking for her!  Finally after a few minutes Brandon and Sarah found her in the front a few houses down!  It was horrible and I really thought Sarah was gonna lose it there for a minute.  Lulu sat in Sarah's lap the rest of the night lol

Amberly was getting sleepy so we put her in her jammies and headed home.  But first, we had to take a look at her most fav thing in their house, their fish tank.  She is still obsessed with it!
Showing Amberly how to feed the fish
Now it's her turn lol

We had a fun night just hanging out with our friends.  I love nights like that!  The next morning we woke up and took Amberly to zoo with Ryan and Cara.  I will post that later this week!  Hope yall are having a good week so far!  xoxo

Fun Times Lately

The past few weeks we have been having so much fun!  Between the rodeo, playdates, and birthdays, we have been busy!  Pic overload, of course! :)

We went to see Tim McGraw at the rodeo.  I hadn't been since George Strait CLOSED the Astrodome!  I'd lived in Austin since and never came home to go.  Danny took 2 clients, and the other 2 had to back out the morning of, so Kelly and Jason came with us.
Danny got to expense the tickets, so they were fabulous, 4th ROW!  Tim came off the stage and we were THIS close to him!  And he slaped me and Kelly's hand too!  It was so much fun!
Bye Tim!
My good friend Jamie was in town from Cincinnati last week and brought Kane over for a few playdates.  These 2 kiddos are just the cutest little things!  Love them to death!  I can't wait til Jamie is BACK in June and we can do this lots!
Ambs picked a flower for Kane....don't they both have on the cutest shoes lol
Playing in the birdbath....We REALLY need to get rid of they eye sore...
As I've said before, Amberly LOVES to give hugs and kisses.....So I said "Amberly, give Kane a hug" and boy did she just attack him like a sumo wrestler!  LOL  She scared that little boy, poor thing.
Showing Kane where the nails go, ohhhh that concentration lol
A few days later Jamie and Kane returned, and Kristina and Caden came over too!  Kane was so sweet and pushed Amberly all the way to the front door....then bailed. haha It was so cute and funny!  Caden pushed Amberly back to us.
We then brought the kids into Ambs room.  Kane got into her rocker, so Ambs wanted in too of course so Jamie helped her out
Caden poured himself some tea.  He is the SMARTEST and most CHATTY kiddo!  He's 22 months and is talking SO much!  He kept saying "Amberly", it was so sweet!  I can't wait til Ambs talks that much.
Ambs sat in Aunt Jamie's lap, and K got jealous haha  Amberly's dress was from Aunt Jamie for Christmas.
That night was the Bachelor finale.  Kelly, Sarah, Nikki and Jamie came over.  Danny was at a meeting for the Final 4 {he get's to work it with Ryan, he's so excited} so it was a GIRLS night.  It is always so great to have ALL 5 of us together - we are so goofy, as you can tell!  :)
This whole season we were all Team Emily!  We were so excited when Chantal O got "dumped", Kelly did a little victory dance around the living room haha.
I worked on St Paddy's day and Danny took some clients to Zac Brown Band at the rodeo, so Ambs had cornbeef and cabbage at Grandma and Grandpa's.
Last week I found her climbing her crib....she hasn't tried climbing out yet, thank goodness
She also had a playdate with Grandma, Meredith and Eli.  Sweet babies reading with Maddie.
I love this pic of her - such a big girl sliding by herself.
For Monkey's 17 month birthday we went to Pottery Barn Kids and got her this pool.  I LOVE my discount and this is why I work at PB.  How cute is this little whale!
Usually, NOTHING scares Amberly {except for Santa} but she did NOT like the pool at first.
Saturday we went out and got her in her new "around the house" swimsuit lol and tried again
Danny and I got in with her and she LOVED it!  We were outside for almost 3 hours!
Getting a little drink. Love those chubby legs!
We also turned on the sprinkler!  She loved running through it!
Saturday night you know was Kelly's birthday dinner.  Here's a pic of us girls at Sawyer Park after.  Yesterday, our friend Sarah {in the middle} matched for her pharmaceutical residency in CHICAGO!  We are all so proud, excited and happy for her!  We can't wait to have a girls trip to visit!
Devoni's going to kill me....but the other night I was working and D was in San Antonio so they watched her for a few hours.  While playing outside, Ambs fell on something...not sure what but she got this pretty little souvenir.  It was not really phasing her at all, she was still climbing all over the place.  However, I was kind of worried, so we made a Dr appt yesterday and she's just fine.  He said it's really not as bad as it looks.  That made me feel much better.  Devoni feels so bad and I hate that, but these things happen!
This morning she woke up with their hair-do!  This kid's got some volume!  Love her!

Ok, think I've caught yall up on what we've been up to lately!  I hope yall are having a great week!
