I'm here.....

so it's been awhile since I have blogged....Last week Devoni's parents were in town.  I LOVE these two!  They are the sweetest people I've ever met!  They love me like their own and just adore Amberly!  I don't think they've gone longer than 2 months that they've ever not seen her!  AND we are going to visit them in Florida in November!  We are SO excited!  While I have so much to blog about {their stay and Nikki's bachelorette} here is just a little something til I get pic sorted, etc :)  

Sunday night Devoni pulled out Danny's old jeans to try them on Amberly - they were 12 months so we thought they would work........

but Amberly figured out her tummy was too big to button them lol  

12 month check up

This morning we went to our 12 month Dr visit with our pediatrician....Dr Bishop is great! He was MY pediatrician and I knew I wanted him for Amberly when we moved back to Sugar Land.  It still baffles my mind at all the growing she has done....guess that's what kiddos do!  Poor baby had 4 shots and a TB test, so 5 bandaids :(  The shot lady totally recognized me from being one of Dr Bishop's old patients - was kind of odd, but neat too....she's been there for 21 years so she said she sees lots of old patients in there with their new babies.

Today Amberly is a 23.2 lb baby and a LONG 31 inches {Dr Bishop questioned her height but TWO nurses measured her to make sure} so I am just going to say maybe she's got some of her Uncle Glen's height :) 

We talked lots about food {which she has normal food now} and getting her off the bottle but I will not bore you....but our goal is no bottles by Thanksgiving!  It will be nice to not have to fool with them during the Holidays!

Speaking of which, I got an email today from Better Homes and Gardens and they had a link for adorable gingerbread houses - they are SO cute and I DEF want to make one this year!  

Hope you all are having a great week so far!  Tonight Gigi and Papa Joe {Devoni's parents} are coming in from Florida til next week!  We can not wait to see them!

Happy 1st Birthday Amberly!

{This note is a little late, I know....sorry Ambs when you read this in the future}

Little Amberly turned 1 on Saturday!  Do you even believe it?!  It just seems like last week we were finishing touring the hospital, getting pre-registered and seeing Dr Cowan very often!  The morning of Oct 16th, 2009, was a calm one, there was no rushing, hustle or bustle.  We had our bags packed and I even made a trip to Target.  We were so excited to meet Ambs and could not wait to see what she looked like {and man she shocked us with all that hair}....and this was our 1st pic as The Wardlow Family!

Here are 12 months of Amberly.....

The day of her actual birthday we were driving back from Austin from Matt and Sara's wedding.  Devoni had Amberly with her in Austin too so on their way home they stopped at a pumpkin patch - I love these pics of the her!  Her outfit says "Birthday Girl" on it.  Devoni is going to hate me, but while they were there, Ambs got into some ants.....they really aren't all that bad, and Devoni feels awful but really, Ambs is just fine - I think it hurt Devoni's feelings more than it hurt Ambs' legs....and living in TX I am sure this won't be the last time she has ant bites! 

We got home about 30 mins later to have our time with our little monkey.

One of my old pageant friends made Amberly a birthday sash....it says "I am 1 today" and "Birthday Girl" on it - so cute!  Thanks so much Luane!

Mom and Dad came over that night and gave Ambs their gifts.....2 Princess Baby books and the Princess Baby herself!  These are the cutest books for little girls and that night Ambs actually said "Baby" TWICE.....it was more like "aby aby" but we all knew what she said!  It was SO cute!

We have had such a fun year with Amberly.  Watching her as she grows {too fast} and learns new things.  She brings us such joy every day and we are so blessed that she is our daughter.

Totally unrelated, but did y'all watch Guiliana and Bill last night?!  I LOVE them...they are the cutest couple ever and I just wish they were able to have a baby.  

In other Ambs news, we went to the Dr's office yesterday and he said she's got allergies.....so we went and got some baby Zyrtec and a NEW carseat from Mimi for her birthday.  She's got her big girl seat now!  Tom left today to go back to India, he will be back home for good hopefully before Thanksgiving!
