HI!!!! Did yall think I fell off the face of the earth?! For some reason since we got back from Hawaii our internet router was not letting me upload anything to any sites. Blogger, Facebook or Snapfish. Annoying beyond belief. Finally this morning we went and got a new router! YAY!
Before I start about our Hawaii trip, let me update you on a few things.
First, Amberly has been in her "big girl bed" the past 3 nights! We were in Austin last weekend and she learned how to climb out of the pack n play. We got home Sunday, put her in her crib, and went to bed thinking it was taller and she wouldn't be able to get out. About 20 mins later we heard a knock on our door. lol She climbed out of her crib too. Monday we took the crib apart, and just put her mattress on the floor. Not the most ideal, but until I figure out what I want to do in there, it's gonna have to work. And I feel she is safer being that close to the floor than being in a bed right away.
Second, last week Devoni and I got all of the things situated for Ambs to get baptized. They only do it on the second Sunday of the month, so next month that just happens to fall on September 11. She will be baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here in Richmond. Next Monday we have to take our baptism class. Mom is making her dress and it's looking gorgeous so far! I have not ordered invitations yet, so yall just mark your calendars.
Ok, I took 900 pics while we were in Hawaii. So, the next several posts will be about our trip mixed in with some other things we have been up to. I wont post all them obviously, but several :)
The Thursday before our trip Gigi, Papa Joe, TJ and Gaby all flew in. That day happened to be Gigi and Papa Joe's 54th wedding anniversary. I found this on pinterest and loved it. They really liked looking at all their old photos.
When they got to Devoni's, Amberly gave them a lei. Sweet girl.
We also had daquaris, and beach themed cupcakes.
Reminiscing
Our flight didn't leave til Saturday morning and of course was delayed 2 hours. Gigi and Papa Joe let us go with them up to the President's Club where we had mimosas and Ambs stole Aunt Gaby's smoothie. Girl loves her smoothies!
Lined up, ready to board! All 9 of us! Gosh, I was pale lol You may notice in pics Ambs had a black eye. Poor Grandma was putting her in the car seat while I was putting something in the trunk and she hit her eye on the door :( Of course, it was gone the day after we got back lol
We had an 8 hour 20 min direct flight to Honolulu. Devoni and Tom were in the seats in front of us thank goodness. Miss Priss did not want to sit with us at all! The iPad entertained her for a little bit. Come nap time, Daddy is the only one who can get her to sleep on planes....Yall, the Aggie War Hymn is the song he sings to her repeatedly to make her go to sleep. Makes me laugh; but it works!
We're here! I love this pic of her. That little hand!
We have moved to Hawaii.....
Once we got to the hotel and got settled, we walked to Waikiki Beach. I have always heard great things about Waikiki, but honestly, I was not impressed.
Mommy Fail: I did not put Ambs in a swimsuit. I really thought she would just play in the sand, etc. But nope, girlfriend got right in lol
Waikiki Beach
Sunday morning Danny, Tom, TJ, Gaby and myself drove to the north shore and to Pearl Harbor. Danny's dad went to 8-10th grade in Honolulu so he showed us his high school. We stopped at Waimea Bay Beach Park and I thought this tree was funny. All those flip flops.
The north shore was so pretty! I forget the name of this beach?
After some beach time we went to Pearl Harbor.
The tour included a 20 minute video and a boat ride out to the USS Arizona.
Going out there was something I am so glad we did. It was definitely very somber and sad. There's still about 2400 men inside the USS Arizona and it still leaks fuel.
The memorial was built over the USS Arizona. You really couldn't see too much though.
After a short 24 hours in Honolulu, we went to the airport to fly to Kauai.
