A few weeks ago Danny, Amberly, Devoni, Tom and I went to the Dallas/Ft Worth area to meet up with Tom's brother and sister for the weekend. Devoni/Tom came up Sat am and we met them in Grandbury. Danny, Ambs and I drove up Friday and stayed with our friends Danielle and Cody. They just moved into a beautiful new home and we just don't see them enough; it was so great getting to hang out with them!
When we got in about 7pm and Danielle greeted us with wine, beer and a nice cheese spread. We ordered pizza for dinner and got Ambs in the bath. We were so proud of Amberly, she slept on her nap mat in our room the entire night. It was her first night not at our house without being in her pack n play....that thing no longer works for us. After she was in bed, we chit chatted and played Scattegories til about midnight. The boys went to bed and we talked for about another hour and it was just so great to sit and talk to Danielle like old times. I SO wish we lived closer so it can happen more often.
Saturday morning Cody was hard at work on waffles and showing Amberly Angry Birds on the iPad :)
See her peonies on her table? I have been wanting those for A's big girl room forever! She said she got them at Pier 1 for $1 a stem....I got 12 the next week when we got home. yay!
They have the 2 cutest dogs, Louis and Ophelia, an English and a French Bulldog. So cute.
Ambs loves dogs! I think she needs one.
This week Danielle texted me a pic of her almost finished living room with their new b/w rug. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their living room, it's so glam! Can't wait to see the curtains, Danielle!
We left their house about 10 for an hour and a half drive to Granbury, TX. Devoni and Tom lived there when Danny was born, so it's a very special place for them. I was excited to see the little town.
Tom's sister Susan, her husband Scott and their grand daughter Tanis, Tom's brother Mike, Devoni, Tom, Amberly, Danny and I all stayed at a hotel right off Lake Granbury. It was a perfect location!
Mike rented a pontoon boat for us for the day. Susan bought the girls coast guard approved life jackets and we were off to the lake.
Grandpa put Ambs on the cooler for easier transportation lol
"You all ready to go?!"
sweet Tanis and Ambs in their life jackets
Looking out at the water with Grandpa
Love her little chunky legs
Watching the waves with Grandma
Devoni and Tom lived on Lake Granbury, so we got to see the house Danny came home to as a baby.
See it? The red brick house.
The girls were chowin down on some watermelon, looking a little hot, so time to stop the boat and get into the water.
Catch me Grandpa!
She really did love the water!
Eventually we all made it into the water. Felt so good to cool off!
After getting back in the boat, I gave Ambs her sunglasses. To my surprise, she actually kept them on for quite awhile lol so funny
She's obsessed with any kind of buckle.
"Don't mess with me I am sunbathing"
babies and Grandmas
We made another stop by Uncle Mike's house. Grandpa took Ambs to the beach
Piggy back ride with Daddy
KING OF THE WORLD.....
Before the next pic, let me explain a story. We put Ambs in a regular diaper until we got on the boat and her out of the water. The water diapers tend to leak until you're in the water, and frankly we forgot to switch to swimmers before she got in the water. So after a brief swim, we took her diaper off and didn't put one on her.....big mistake....While up on Daddy's shoulders it was time to POOP....yes, poop. Danny turned around and said "uh, babe, I think she pooped" LOL HILARIOUS. No diaper and on his shoulders lol
So we stripped her down and let the poop out of her swimsuit.....Aunt Susan helped, bc of course it was too funny to not have me taking pics haha
wittle booty. We let her dry off then changed her clothes and headed back to the hotel.
That night we all went to Babe's for dinner. It was awesome. Granbury kind of reminds me of Fredericksburg minus all the wineries. It was such a cute town, wish we had more time to explore the square.
We had a great Saturday with the family and a fun Sunday morning at the splash park. I will blog about that hopefully tomorrow!
