Elf on the Shelf: Days 1-5

OK, considering that I have not blogged since September, I guess you probably want to know what has been going on with us.  We got Amberly baptized,  moved into OUR house, had Amberly's 2nd BEE-Day party, unpacked and have just been busy.  Therefore, I have totally ignored our blog.  But what besides Christmas to bring me back!? 

Thanks to Jamie and Pinterest, I was talked into buying the "Elf on the Shelf".  I always thought it was just a "report to Santa about  the kid's bad behavior" type thing; but after looking at Pinterest, I saw all the fun things you do with the elf each night after he/she goes back to visit Santa and comes back home.  Every morning Amberly wakes up to see what all sorts of shenanigans Holly had gotten into the night before.  So much fun!

We got our elf last week at Hallmark and Amberly didn't really know about it, so Danny and I decided to name him/her.  We were throwing around names and decided she would be named "Holly"...we did buy a skirt, so she is a girl elf.   We aren't doing the whole "not allowed to touch the elf" thing....maybe we will start that next year.  Ambs loves Holly.  She wakes up now and says "Amby find Holly".  It's so cute.  Here is what Holly has been up to the past 5 days....thank you Pinterest :)

After going to the Heights Holiday Home Tour, Holly brought Amberly back a gingerbread Crave cupcake.

This morning Amberly awoke to Holly at the top of a cup tower! 

This is such a fun thing to do with Ambs and I am excited for the years to come with all the different things Holly can do.  Maybe we will get to add a boy elf too :)  haha.
