Saturday, there was not a whole lot going on either. We went swimming at Grandma's house with Amberly, had dinner over there and watched the Texans lose to the Saints. I went to order Amberly's birthday party invitations, her thank you notes and favor tags and the etsy seller had a post on her page saying "due to a family matter, I will not be accepting new orders for 4 WEEKS" ahhhhhh......I was so bummed! I was in LOVE with them! So, now back to searching again....grrrrr.....
Sunday, my bff Kelly came over and we made a lots of poms for Amberly's birthday party. Look at all the poms we made (lots more made that weren't fluffed yet)....pink, purple (not shown), green, yellow - and now, I just need to get some turquoise tissue paper and we will be done with the poms! They're going to be everywhere, inside and out {as long as it doesn't rain.}
While pom making, we indulged in some Skinny Girl Margarita....I am semi obsessed with Bethenny Frankel and her margarita only has 37 calories per 1.5oz.....I have to say, we were a little disappointed, but still made for some fun girl time, even if Kelly was a lil sleepy :) That night, my parents and Danny's mom came over and we all had a family dinner of pot roast and all the fixins....it was so good! Amberly loved the smushy carrots, potatoes and even tried some meat. Should've taken a pic.
This weekend my mom also found all of these lollipops at the dollar store, who knew?! We're going to unwrap them and use in the centerpieces and the candy bar.
We also went to Hobby Lobby and found these lollipops for the front yard. They're Christmas yard decor, so they were red and white, but mom painted them pink. You can't tell in the picture, but the white part is all glittered too. We're going to get 4-5 more and paint them different colors and add some ribbon bows or something.
Here's lil monkey Sunday morning while I was emptying the dish washer..... she got a hold of the puff jar....

Ok this may sound funny but:
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at your adorable blog and noticed that you are using poms for your daughter's party. Such a cute idea! I used them for a 1st birthday party last weekend and everyone loved them :) Well mine are more of flowers, they aren't balls, one side lays flat so that you can use them on tables or hanging. I was actually about to throw them in the recycle bin today (b/c of course they don't store well) when I came across your blog. By any chance would you like to have them for your party? For free of course b/c I was just going to throw them out anyway. I have 2 hot pink, 5 bright/lime green, 3 light pink. I also have some minis, 2 green, 1 light pink and 3 hot pink. I am assuming you are in Houston since we have alot of the same Houston blog friends. I will be there this weekend so let me know if you would like me to bring them for you. You can check out the flower/poms on my blog. Have a great week!
